Monumental Tales:
The Fascinating Stories behind the World's Pet Statues and Monuments

By Jackie Buckle

A lavishly illustrated exploration of pet statues and memorials from around the world, and the often surprising and inspiring stories behind them.

Date: Wednesday 3rd July to Thursday 22nd August

This exciting new title, due for publication in November 2019, explores the world of pet statues, monuments and memorials and the stories behind them. Fully illustrated in colour, it features a foreword written by wildlife expert Chris Packham, and proceeds from the book will go to help fund the UK's first national memorial to service dogs.

A crowdfunding campaign is currently underway at Indiegogo to support the publication of the title and also to raise money for Blue Cross, a pet-saving charity in the UK. The mission of Blue Cross is to find happy homes for abandoned or unwanted pets, keep pets healthy by promoting welfare, and providing treatment. Contributors will have the opportunity to get early-bird copies of the book, limited edition copies signed by Chris Packham, and fun packages with Monumental Tales and Blue Cross goodies. The campaign closes on 22nd August 2019.

You can donate to the campaign at Indiegogo at https://igg.me/at/monumentaltales/, and you can follow the campaign on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, #MonumentalTales. To learn more about the Monumental Tales project, visit the author's website at monumentaltales.org.uk.
