One of the most notable features of the current philosophical climate is the resurgence of interest, at school and university, in the Philosophy of Religion. With his extensive teaching experience at both these levels, Dr Michael Palmer has created another invaluable aid for all students and instructors working in this area.

This two-volume anthology is the most comprehensive compilation of major writings now available to the public, while its user-friendly structure makes it particularly important for students at differing levels of attainment. The book includes comprehensive introductions to each topic, detailed analysis of each essay, biographical information about individual philosophers, wide-ranging bibliographies and examination questions. The result is the most important aid to study in this area now on the market, which will be an invaluable resource for students, teachers and the general reader alike.

1. The Attributes of God
2. Arguments for God's Existence
3. The Problem of Evil
4. The Argument from Miracles
5. Morality and God

Dr Michael Palmer was educated at Lancing College and St John's College, Durham. A former Teaching Fellow at McMaster University and Humboldt Fellow at Marburg University, Dr Palmer has taught at Marlborough College and Bristol University, and was for many years founding Head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at The Manchester Grammar School. His Moral Problems (Lutterworth, 1991; 2nd ed, 2005), remains the most influential school coursebook in philosophy of its generation.

His other works include Freud and Jung on Religion (1997), The Question of God (2001), Moral Problems in Medicine (2005), The Atheist's Creed (2010), The Atheist's Primer (2012) and Atheism for Beginners (2013). One of the most widely-read of contemporary philosophers, his work has been translated into many languages.

Its scope allows for a wide selection of texts, and it has a comprehensiveness within its chosen topics which gives it an advantage over many competing titles. It is a reference work that could be of great use to both the students and teachers. Theological Book Review
